Welcome from Rev Stella and all at Skene Parish Church
Our 2014 24/7 prayer room is planned for November at Trinity Church. It will be open from 9am on Friday 7th November until 9pm on Saturday 8th November. The theme will be one of reconciliation in preparation for Remembrance Sunday.
We are currently signing up folks for hourly slots. Although that might seem like a long time, there will be plenty of material to help you in your time with God. There will be a series of prayer stations which will get you thinking and doing and there will also be a series of prayer guides, which you can use to structure your time in the room. You don't have to be signed up to pop in during the prayer event and we want to encourage as many people as possible to come and spend some time with God. If you would like more information or to sign up for a slot, please contact Rev Stella on email@example.com.
"You who sit down in the High God’s presence,
spend the night in Shaddai’s shadow,
Say this: “God, you’re my refuge.
I trust in you and I’m safe!” Psalm 91:1-2 (The Message)
This weekend saw the conclusion of our 2014 Stewardship Season on Talents.
On Saturday, we opened up Skene Kirk to share our Harvest Thanksgiving display. Thanks to all who came and all those who helped. There was lots of activity in the Milne Hall and we have started knitting a Church blanket of squares. It's not too late to join in. The pattern is available from the notice board in Trinity Church.
On Sunday, we celebrated with our Harvest Thanksgiving services. We collected dry and tinned foods for the foodbank at Somebody Cares and our retiral collection will go to our mission partners, David and Rebecca Morton, in Malawi. A huge amount has been given and thank you to everyone who came and participated. We enjoyed a Messy Harvest in the afternoon, with over 40 parents and children coming to worship. It was a wonderful day and a great end to a great Stewardship Season. Next year, we will be exploring the stewardship of creation.
